Not long ago, Matt Bentley found himself in a challenging predicament. Upon learning about a distressing dog trap call, he embarked on a mission to locate the stranded animal and provide assistance. When he finally discovered her traversing a desolate trail in Salt Flats, the gravity of the situation became apparent. The poor dog was visibly frail, weakened by hunger, and her fur was scant from seeking refuge against abrasive rocks during relentless dust storms.
It was a dire circumstance that called for immediate action to rescue and provide care for the suffering canine.
Upon bringing her to the Utah Animal Adoption Center, Matt passionately advocated for the dog’s rescue, urging them to take her in. Recognizing the urgency of her condition, the center readily agreed to provide her with the necessary care. Moved by the plight of this resilient canine, a woman named Jamie stepped forward to offer financial support for Kelly’s medical treatment and recovery journey. Inspired by her spirit, Jamie also bestowed upon the dog a fitting name, Kelly, signifying hope and resilience amid adversity.
Kelly was so friendly. Upon meeting Jamie for the first time, she came right up to Jamie, wagging her tail and wanting to be pet. The instant bond Jamie felt was evident! Despite the pain she must have been in and whatever past trauma she was working through, Kelly made the best of it and put forth a positive attitude for everyone’s sake.
Even with a fighting attitude, Kelly’s recovery seemed slow. It was Jamie who watched the most and he knew as soon as she was ready, he would adopt her.
Kelly’s first day at her house was awesome; she walked through the front door and it seemed like it always belonged to her. Jamie’s dog Rocky happily greeted Kelly and by the end of the day the two were inseparable. It seems that they’re also siblings too because in this video you can see that when they go to sleep; neither one likes sleeping without the other! As time went on, Kelly’s recovery did too! In fifteen months, her fur grew back in completely and her health was excellent. Jamie is so grateful for what Matt did that she wants to reunite them. Of course Matt agreed!
Meeting Kelly after after undergoing such intense surgery shocked Matt. To say she was transformed is an understatement! Jamie thanks Matt over and over for saving her life. Seeing this, Matt teeters on the verge of tears because he understands that Kelly wouldn’t have survived if it weren’t for him.
